Secrets of the Quercus: Myths, Truths, and Misconceptions about Monrovia’s Native Oaks

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the beautiful trees in our very own Library Park, this is your chance! The LA Arboretum’s Botanical Information Consultant, Frank McDonough, will lead us in a walking tour to help uncover all of the hidden secrets of our beloved oak trees. This event is a walking tour, so be sure to wear your walking shoes! Meet us in front of the library to join the fun. All ages are welcome at this event.

This event is a part of our Book to Action series. All attendees will have a chance at winning a free copy of The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. Read the book and feel inspired to protect and enjoy the trees of Monrovia!

A special thank you to California Center for the Book (CCFB) and its Book to Action grant for supporting this series. CCFB is a program of the California Library Association, supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
