Program Description

Event Details

In honor of Earth Day, Monrovia's Canyon Park Team and the Library will partner to host an Earth Day Celebration! Come to the Canyon Park Nature Center to enjoy a StoryWalk led by a Librarian featuring the children’s book Trees by Lemniscates. A StoryWalk is a way for children and their families to appreciate nature on an accessible trail while listening to a story. Walk along the trail and enjoy a book step-by-step and page-by-page. There will also be nature poetry readings presented by the Library’s Adult Literacy Team and a hike for all ages led by a Park Naturalist.

*A limited number of free parking spaces will be made available. To get a free parking space, register below. Please only register once per vehicle. Upon entering the Park, you will be able to check in with a Park Naturalist to receive your free parking pass. If free parking registration is full, parking will be $10 per vehicle.

This event is a part of our Book to Action series. All attendees will have a chance at winning a free copy of The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. Read the book and feel inspired to protect and enjoy the trees of Monrovia!

A special thank you to California Center for the Book (CCFB) and its Book to Action grant for supporting this series. CCFB is a program of the California Library Association, supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
