Program Description

Event Details

Please join us for a conversation and workshop with Monrovian Giangelo Leos, certified California naturalist, UC Climate Steward, and the community initiatives and program director at Food Exploration & Discovery. The workshop will cover choosing fire-resistant plants, exploring invasive plants to avoid, adding beneficial native and drought tolerant plants, and creating spaces that slow down or stop a spreading fire by depriving it of fuel. In addition, Monrovians will learn about proactive approaches to living next door to the post-Bobcat Fire foothills of Monrovia and strategies for sustainably conserving and preserving our wilderness spaces. Register to receive a Zoom invitation. Can't make it? Sign-up anyway to get an email with a link to a recording of the event!
